T2 Trainspotting is far from the greatness of the original, but, it is quite better than what you might think. Following the return of Edinburgh’s heroin addicts, T2 takes place twenty years later, the group dismantled, and our characters somewhat unchanged. The film’s style and quality is much in vein with the original; dazzling displays of artistic vision from Danny Boyle percolate on screen in a delightful manner, while it can be weary at times. Its first half is a tedious setback to the second; the arrival of old faces are each searching for their part in the film, and there isn’t a lot to hook its audiences with. But, from its halfway point to the end, T2 Trainspotting is a ton of fun. It isn’t a necessary film, but, nonetheless, it is a film anyone should be glad to watch.
