There’s something brutally honest about The Last American Virgin. Boaz Davidson’s remake of his Israeli original Lemon Popsicle is typical to the sex comedy genre, while on the other hand, manages to be so gut-punchingly real. The mix of sex comedy conventions and coming-of-age authenticity is honestly surprising. In what’s undoubtedly an underrated American classic, boobs and butts are entangled with love and heart, like an episodic TV series, where the good stuff is displayed in a seemingly genuine tale of coming-of-age discovery.
