Where Westworld flourished in its mix of sci-fi and western excitement, Futureworld falls short. Audiences are thrown into a near two hour experience of slapdash entertainment and mundane characters, both unnecessary to a film that needed no further explanation. Simply put, Futureworld is one halfassed mess of a sequel. Set two years after the disastrous events at Westworld, this tedious sci-fi dives deeper into the behind the scenes snooze that just so happened to fault in the original. Despite its lack of accomplishment, the one scene to wait around for is its sex-fantasy dream sequence. That’s it.
